Colatown

Here are some things that fascinate me about Columbia.

Regular-sized trucks, monster wheels
Now this is a regular siting -- I guess it's the everyman's version of a monster truck because it's your basic pick-up with ginormous wheels. Odd.

The "did I go to high school with you?" stare
No, you didn't. I promise...but you may have seen me around town>?

Our local DHL delivery person
He or she can never get it right. All you have to do is leave a sticky note on the door - what's the big deal? And you wonder why I haven't fully embraced online shopping?

ugh. i hate those redneck trucks. so stupid looking. do they expect people to take them seriously??

and we wonder why the southern redneck stereotype won't die....jeez louise....

one of the first things i noticed about columbia when i moved here was the large number of BBQ places -- which shouldn't be too surprising, i guess. also, the total obsession with college football and high numbers of church attendence.

Well, I can't say that I enjoy the monster truck thing being a native, but I do find myself taking my four year old to them which he is fascinated with...I think it's a power trip. As for the college football, can't knock it until you have tried it. I think other will agree! GO GAMECOCKS.
